AI receptionist for roofing companies

The Monday afterthe hail.

An AI receptionist for roofing companies answers the calls that pile up after a storm, books the inspection into your calendar and sends you the summary. It says it is automated, speaks in your company's words, and hands off to a person when your rules say so.

ProxMedia is an AI marketing agency in Denver. We install the AI systems that answer calls and book jobs for service businesses, and we build the websites, local SEO, Google profile and Meta ads behind them.

Hail last night, shingles in the yard.

"Thanks for calling. I'm an automated assistant and I can book a roof inspection. Is there water coming in right now, or is it damage you can see from outside?"

What it does

What does an AI receptionist do for a roofing company?

An AI receptionist for a roofing company answers every call you cannot pick up, asks whether water is coming in now, collects the address and a callback number, and books the inspection into your calendar. It announces that it is automated, follows your hours and service area, and sends you a summary after every call.

  • Storm-week inspection requests booked in order, with the address and the damage the caller can see.
  • Active-leak calls routed under your emergency rule.
  • Replacement and re-roof estimates captured with the details an estimator needs.
Who it is forRoofing companies whose phone goes from quiet to flooded in a single week.
Good to knowIt never gives insurance advice or quotes a roof. It takes the details, then books or hands off.

The calls

Which roofing calls does it handle, and which go to a person?

The AI receptionist books the routine roofing calls on its own and routes active leaks to your on-call crew. You set the rules in the audit, in plain words, and tighten them for storm season.

Booking

Does it book into AccuLynx, JobNimbus or Jobber?

The AI receptionist books into your calendar, with the slots and buffers you allow. If you run AccuLynx, JobNimbus or Jobber, we scope that connection in the audit rather than promise it on a page, so the quote matches what gets built.

  • Your calendar, your inspection slots, your drive-time buffers.
  • The booking and the caller's details land where your office already looks.
  • You keep your number. Calls forward to the AI after hours or on overflow.

The script

What does it say to callers, and who approves the wording?

The AI receptionist opens by saying it is automated, then asks the questions you would ask after a storm. You approve every line before it goes live: the greeting, the leak question, the inspection booking and the handoff. It never quotes a price or an insurance outcome.

  • Your company's name, hours, service area and the work you actually do.
  • An approved answer for the questions you get every day: inspection fees, financing, how claims work with you.
  • A handoff rule for anything outside the script, with the caller's details passed along.

Timing and cost

How long until it is live, and what does it cost?

An AI receptionist for a roofing company is live in about two weeks after we get access to your number and calendar. The cost is a setup and a monthly, both in writing after a 30-minute audit, because the scope decides the price.

  • Week one: your hours, services, area, storm rules and approved answers.
  • Week two: test calls with you, then the forwarding switch.
  • Owner alerts go by email, and by text once your business number clears carrier registration, which we set up with you.

The numbers

What do the numbers say about hail season on the Front Range?

One day produced 56 percent of 2024's hail reports across nine Colorado counties: May 30, with 86 of 153 reports in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Larimer and Weld, per NOAA's Storm Events Database. Across 2019 to 2025, 92 percent of the 1,003 reports in those counties fell between May and August.

A hail report is not a roof, and a roof is not a phone call. It does say that the roofing phone is a single-week phone: the calls come at once, and the ones nobody picks up go to whoever picks up next.

Updated October 29, 2026

Does the AI receptionist give insurance advice?

No. It takes the question and the carrier name, then hands the call to you or your estimator. It never tells a homeowner what a claim will or will not cover.

What happens the week after a hailstorm?

It answers every call, books inspections in the order they came in, and routes active leaks under your emergency rule. You get a summary for each call instead of a full voicemail box.

Can it text the homeowner a confirmation?

Confirmations go by email today. Text delivery switches on once your business number clears carrier registration, which we set up with you.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. You keep your number. Calls forward to the AI receptionist after hours, on overflow, or whenever you choose.

Does it work with AccuLynx or JobNimbus?

It books into your calendar. If you run AccuLynx, JobNimbus or Jobber, we scope that connection in the audit so the quote matches what gets built.
